Now for the protection talk…..
I remember watching a video titled “How The Sun Sees You” and showed how people looked in ultraviolet which I have to say was pretty shocking. Just because we don’t see the harm the sun is doing to our skin doesn’t mean it’s not happening. You can noticeably see the damage in the video below but you can also see the affects of sunscreen when applied under UV which appears completely black.
So i hope this video shows you how important it is to use a daily sunscreen and especially when you plan a trip to the beach where you want to intentionally soak up the rays.
Supergoop – Astralift – Lunamer
Lunamer’s SPF 40 PA++ ★★★★★
This one was definitely my fave of the bunch. The nozzle is great for accurate application and has a thick lotion-like consistency. It blends well and was absorbed quickly which left my face smoothy and slightly dewy. It also has a higher SPF of 40 and the size is perfect for your bag and daily use. PA is a Japanese/Korean rating system in place before the new regulations that was a way to show how much protection you are getting from UVA rays. You will see either PA+, PA++, or PA+++ on the label, with more + signs meaning a higher level of UVA protection. The ranking, which refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers from the UVA rays that may cause long-term skin damage. PA rankings are listed as PA+, PA++ or PA+++. The more +’s, the more protection from UVA rays. Will definitely use this again
Astalift Sunscreen SPF35 PA+++ ★★★★
My second favourite and almost tied for first was almost identical to the first one (maybe because they are the same brand but different level of SPF and UVA protection) but it had a tint to it like a BB cream or tinted moisturiser however i didn’t notice any difference when i applied the sunscreen and it quickly disappeared and was absorbed really well and left my skin also smooth and dewy. I think with these two that are from the same company ,choose the higher SPF or PA++ as I only really noticed one difference about the two which was the colour.
Super goop indeed, really messy because of the runny consistency and every time i opened it I found myself wasting the product because it ended up on the table and floor. The applicator nozzle is definitely not designed for the consistency of the product although it did absorb well and did act as a good moisturiser. As a daily sunscreen and having it in your bag all day is a disaster waiting to happen, it has heavier sunscreen smell as opposed to the other two with a fainter smell. However it is animal cruelty free– which we love. They also have another size which is great for large families or refills.
