It was Kanch’s bridal shower on Saturday and us girls had been planning for a few weeks the location, decorations, games, goodie bags, banners and food.
I think we did an amazing job because with polka dots it could have easily gone tacky but we avoided that!
We decided on Grassroots Pantry a vegan/vegetarian restaurant hidden in a lane in Sai Wan with a great in door and out door space with a really cosy organic decor feel. The food was scrumptious, and healthy with an assortment of cupcakes and dumplings, and more.
We had a couple of games, one which was on going was the bracelet shakedown so everyone had 2 bracelets and no-one was allowed to mention, Jaipur, wedding, bride, honeymoon, bridesmaids, or awwwwww. Every time you said one of these words in conversation, whomever you were talking to would take one of your bracelets, so who ended up with the most was the winner. You can imagine how hard this was, so congratulations to Teresa who deliberately tried to get everyone to say the forbidden words! It kind of went like this “Are you going to the ughhh…” “Wedding?” “Give me your bracelet.”
The second game was a quiz for Kanch to see how well she knew her husband to be and every time Kanch got something wrong she had to have a marshmallow, but not eat it- kind of like a bridal version of chubby bunny.
Personally, my favourite was the toilet roll couture dress competition. We had to get into groups of 4 or 5 and create a gorgeous toilet roll couture wedding dress in under 8 minutes and we were very proud our dream team to get 2nd place ha!
Anyway, we all had a lovely time and are so happy for Kanch & Albert. Love you Kanch, hope you had a polka-blast!
Thank you everyone for coming and making it so special!
